Situated at a crossroads between Europe and Asia, Istanbul is a city of the world; known as the “Cradle of Civilization”. From the breathtaking vistas of the Bosphorus, to the worldly acclaimed historical sites of the Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofia, and Blue Mosque – the city possesses a certain richness with its combination of unique geographical location and diverse cultural wealth.

Established in 1773, Istanbul Technical University has continued to develop in parallel with the city. Today, ITU’s 21,000 students study in one of 5 campuses (Taskisla, Gumussuyu, Macka, Tuzla, and Ayazaga/Macka) located throughout Istanbul. ITU strives to continue to expand its development as a dynamic, world university, with a mission to provide education, conduct research, and initiate technological developments as a university competing in a rapidly globalizing world.

Through the International Office, ITU upholds its commitment to coordinate and liaise with international institutions and to promote the international exchange of students and scholars, encouraging advancement of scientific achievement, academic enterprise, and cultural enrichment. The  ITU-FEMA Achieve Project and the ITU-Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) Summer School are only a few of the major projects of the International Office.
